Ahoy!
We've already had a few questions about this, so we'll shed some light on how to get your own picture in every post you make here in the forums.
The little pictures you see attached to the name of the poster is called an "avatar"; for instance, my own avatar is a USN logo/seal. If you would like to have your own avatar, but aren't sure how to create one, feel free to e-mail us a photo of yourself (current or during your tour of duty) or any graphic you'd like to show as representing you on these forums and we'll happily convert them into an "avatar".
The great thing about an avatar is that other shipmates and friends who visit these forums will often recognize you more quickly! We all know how forgetful we can often be with names; and, as they say, a photo is worth a thousand words.
You can e-mail it directly to our Webmaster (webmaster@ussernestgsmall.org) or, if you're familiar with forum usage already, you can send a Private Message to me or Dennis Vinson and attach the photo there.
If you need more information, don't hesitate to ask! We're here to help make your experience at this site as enjoyable as we can.
Thanks for reading.
