For those of you who missed the 2006 reunion in Portland, Oregon all I can say is 'sorry.' Literally hours before the reunion started I received quite a bit of information about the 28 years of service our ship had with the nation of Taiwan as the Fu Yang DDG-907. A wonderful lady named Fei Chen obtained that ship's history from Mr. Shen Tien-Yu (who's the director of the Naval Museum in Kao Shung). This information was presented at the reunion and a special message was read from him to us all. For those who didn't attend, I've now completed two stories concerning the reunion and of the details surrounding that message. They have now been submitted to The Small Talk for publication. I've also completed my first story about the newly learned history of the Fu Yang and it will be submitted soon to The Small Talk. Hopefully you all will enjoy learning new details of our ship's life after leaving the US Navy. Let me also say, there appears to be over 2,000 more officers and men who served about her when she was the Fu Yang. I'm going to attempt to establish a line of communication (using this web site) between them and us through the Naval Museum in Kao Shung. If any one is interested in assisting, please contact me here or at beroy@comcast.com --- please be assurred ANY assistance/ideas/etc. would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, we all owe a great debt of gratitude to Fei Chen, her husband Richard Wozniak and Mr. Shen for all they have done for us. WETSU, Bert
