Streaming Video Content
The videos provided on these pages are developed
for Macromedia
® Flash
Player. The videos are displayed in a
high-quality 640X480 native view. The
Flash Player has a button (second from bottom
right) that allows a full-screen view with
little loss to video quality.
These shows are
best viewed using a high-speed Internet
connection (DSL, Cable or Broadband). 56K
dial-up connections will work, but are so slow
as to be quite annoying. If you do not
have a high-speed connection at this time, you
might visit your local Public Library.
Most offer newer computer systems with a
high-speed Internet connection.
Computer age, speed, memory and video memory
also affects the video performance. At a
minimum for decent performance, you will need a
P3-500mhz processor, 512mb of system memory,
128mb video memory running on a Windows 2000, XP
or Vista Operating System.
Video Sources
The still and moving images in the video clips
come from my personal library and from
contributions of several of our shipmates.
Most notably, Al Dentino has donated video tape
of the reunions from 1995 through 2001 plus his
photo archive of all reunions. Significant
time is required to digitize the video and still
photo content, organize it and then produce it
in a streaming format for the web. This
will be a work in progress for some time to
come. Individual shows will be rolled out
to the website as they are produced.
